In the past, students have lost access to their previous year’s courses on Blackboard immediately following examination board meetings in early September. Despite requests from students to allow access to these resources, for revision purposes, we were unable to facilitate such access due to restricted storage capacity.
With our major upgrade last year to Blackboard 9.1, this restriction has eased, allowing us to review the policy. For the current academic year, registered students will have access to both their 1112 courses and their 1213 courses (assuming these are switched to “available” by instructors).
This decision has been made based on past requests from students and also on good practice from an educational perspective. Students will be able to review materials from the last year.
This may cause some confusion for students, since it deviates from the current situation. We will monitor the situation, and review again next year.
