Workshops in October

Blackboard imageAfter a very busy start of term, we are now planning some workshops for staff to take place in October. To facilitate new users of Blackboard, we will offer one of our popular Introduction to Blackboard workshops. Following from discussions at the Blackboard Festival in August, we also intend to offer three different workshops around the theme of Assessment.

Details of each workshop follow. To sign up for any of these, please contact Bernadette Henchy. Numbers are strictly limited, though if there is sufficient demand we may schedule further dates.

Workshop: Introduction to Blackboard

Monday 21st  October, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm

This popular workshop is targeted at users who are new to Blackboard and is aimed at getting participants up and running with the system. All attendees are provided with their own Blackboard training course shell, which they populate with a variety of content during this hands-on workshop session.

Workshop: Using GradeMark with Turnitin on Blackboard

Wednesday 23rd  October, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm

This workshop focuses on GradeMark, the sister product to Turnitin and is aimed at users who are already familiar with the use of Turnitin. With GradeMark, an instructor is able to mark Turnitin papers online, providing comments, using rubrics and giving audio (voice) feedback.

This workshop is offered at the intermediate level. Participants should be comfortable with the basic functionality of Blackboard and Turnitin.
